Dating back to 2012, EuroJackpot is one of the youngest lotteries around. It offers incredible jackpot prizes that compete with those of lotteries that have been well-established for decades. As its name implies, EuroJackpot is a European lottery in the vein of the first pan-European lottery, the famous EuroMillions. One big difference though, it beats its “big brother” by having 17 countries participating: Croatia, Spain, Germany, Italy, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Iceland, Latvia, the Netherlands, Norway, Slovenia and Sweden. This compares to the 9 participating EuroMillions countries.

Another fact is that although the maximum EuroMillions jackpot rises well above that of the EuroJackpot – €190 million compared to €90 million – the chances of winning EuroJackpot’s top prize are far superior and you also stand a chance of winning a range of exciting secondary prizes in this young European lottery.

The lottery draws are held every Friday night at 19:00 BST (or 2:00pm Eastern Standard Time).

How to Play EuroJackpot

To play Eurojackpot, you must select five numbers between 1 and 50, plus two additional numbers from 1 to 10. To win the jackpot, you will need to match all seven numbers drawn. In the event that no ticket holder matches all seven numbers required, the top prize rolls over to the following draw.

The jackpot is capped at €90 million, but in the event that funds from ticket sales exceed this amount, the excess funds are rolled down and added to the second tier prize pool.

EuroJackpot Prizes and Odds

Other than the Grand Prize, all PowerBall prizes are set amounts. The overall odds of winning a prize is 1 in 24.87 based on a $2 play (rounded to two decimal places). However as with all people dreaming of a lifestyle change, By selecting the 5+1 combination correctly, a grand prize jackpot win will certainly fulfill one’s dream of a lifestyle change – with odds being 1 in 292 million!

The lottery starts at a minimum of $40 million. Unlike many other lotteries which may be limited in the number of times they can be rolled over, Powerball keeps on going up in value. This is one of the reasons why it is one of the most popular lottos.
